Yes, overflow parking will be available across the street at Albert D Lawton Intermediate School and the United Methodist Church. We will have someone on site to help attendees cross the street.
This year we also have parking available at the First Congregational Church on Main Street, and there's also free public parking in the lots around 5 Corners. These are excellent locations to park and bike due to their distance.
VERY IMPORTANT: There is no crossing Maple Street unless at a crosswalk. Please use the crosswalks and stay to the side of the road or on the sidewalk. No one should be walking or standing in the road.
The Essex Pride Festival will happen, rain or shine. In the very unfortunate event that it rains, we'll use the pavilions and resources at Maple Street Park to make sure as many things as possible are inside or undercover.
That's 100% your call, but we're bringing our kids along! The Essex Pride Festival is an all-ages event. The Festival is happening in a public park, which means we're following all required rules and regulations. If you don't think it's a good idea for a drag queen to read a fairy tale to a field full of people (including youth), then this event probably isn't for you anyways.
You sure can! We just ask that you clean up any waste and dispose of it properly.
We'll have picnic tables set up around the Festival site as well as a few park benches. For those who wish to watch the performances, we encourage you to bring your own blankets or chairs and set up your own space on the soccer field to watch.
Essex Pride does not partner with local law enforcement. We've instead hired local, licensed, and trained security teams to ensure that the Festival is safe and free of hate.
**Keep checking back. We'll add more questions and answers as we receive them.**
